Sanborn's Electrolysis Clinic

Joan graduated from the Texas Medical Center (Houston) campus of Texas Woman’s University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. After graduation, she worked in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Methodist Hospital (Houston Medical Center) until moving to California in 1988.

While in California, Joan’s hospital experience included assignments in Oncology and General Surgery. Having broadened her background, she moved into Home Health nursing; first as a visiting nurse and later as a supervisor responsible for 35 visiting nurses and therapists.

In 1996 the family was transferred back to Houston. Arriving with a 2‑year old daughter, Joan elected to work part time in the field of Occupational Nursing. As the elementary school years approached, she looked for work that would provide greater flexibility around the family life. Electrology was a good fit, combining her medical background with the scheduling options of being self‑employed.

In 2000 Joan began her training at the Savoy School of Electrolysis, graduating in 2001. Sanborn’s Electrolysis Clinic opened shortly afterwards. Joan comes to her Electrolysis clients with 17 plus years of nursing experience and over 4 years of practical experience in Electrology.

Many clients, when looking for an electrologist, feel more comfortable having a registered nurse doing their permanent hair removal.
