Causes of unwanted Hair
Puberty pregnancy and menopause can cause excess hair growth in women. During a persons life systemic changes cause variations in hormone production. The various hormone imbalances can cause unwanted hair growth. Malfunctions in the Endocrine glands can trigger the growth of unwanted hair. Various diseases of the ovaries, pituitary gland, adrenal gland and the Thyroid gland are responsible for much excess hair growth. Medications can also influence extra hair growth. Some of the culprits are cortisone, some high blood pressure medications, birth control pills and some seizure drugs.
Stress can stimulate the Adrenal glands to produce hormones that can cause fine,
soft body hair to suddenly become coarse. When people do the temporary processes of shaving or waxing, the hairs can become infected. Sometimes, mainly on a mans neck or chin, or woman's bikini line, the hairs grow back at such a very shallow angle they become ingrown and infected.
