Is Laser hair removal system permanent?
No! Laser hair removal will not be permanent!
It will likely reduce the total number of hairs in a given area after treatment. The FDA has approved several laser manufacturers to claim permanent hair reduction only.
It is possible for hair to remain off the area of the body treated for several months to a year or two. In the case of one of my clients, when her hair grew back it was much thicker and darker than before the laser treatments.
Disadvantages of Laser Hair Removal
1. Laser is not permanent hair removal. According to the FDA, it can be called permanent reduction if the laser is on a specific FDA approved list. 2. Laser treatment is even less effective on dark or tanned skin 3. Laser is not effective on light or grey hair. 4. Laser is very costly considering that in several years you will be looking at re‑treatment or another method of hair removal. 5. Long-term data on safety and effectiveness of laser treatments have not yet been established. 6. Laser hair reduction requires multiple treatments over a period of months. 7. Regulations for laser use differ from state to state. Selecting a practitioner can be very challenging.
We understand that laser hair removal, at best, is a temporary reduction of hair. After a period of time the individual is in treatment again for re‑treatment of their unwanted hair.
